Hear firsthand how Jill Barad successfully took Barbie from under $200 million to $2 billion in sales, and further established the Barbie Brand as an American icon. She purchased American Girl from Pleasant Company for Mattel and helped to open the first American Girl Store in Chicago. You’ll hear how she created the most successful female action character line, “She-Ra, the Princess of Power,” and how she used her leadership platform to establish Mattel’s philanthropy program.
Each episode is co-hosted by The Strong’s play and history experts who guide the conversation and highlight rarely seen artifacts from deep within The Strong’s storage facility—where we house the world’s largest collection of toys, video games, and related archival materials. And of course, each episode is paired with a suggested cocktail you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
